Siemens Blue-Flame Detectors QRC1 Series

Siemens QRC1 Series are compact UV-sensitive blue-flame detectors designed for monitoring blue- or yellow-burning oil and gas flames. They provide flame detection signals to compatible burner control units.

The detectors feature an integrated preamplifier and support frontal or 90° lateral illumination, depending on the model. They are primarily designed for small-capacity burners operating in intermittent mode.

Operating Principle

The Siemens QRC1 uses a specially designed UV-sensitive diode equipped with a quartz-glass lens to concentrate flame radiation onto the active sensing element.

With maximum spectral sensitivity at approximately 300 nm, the detector is well suited for sensing ultraviolet radiation generated by blue-burning oil or gas flames.

An optical filter reduces longer-wavelength radiation, while the integrated preamplifier increases the detector signal to the level required by the compatible burner control. Short flame signal interruptions are tolerated, supporting stable burner operation when flames exhibit significant flickering.
